So many of us are infatuated with "The Blonde Bombshell," or the old Hollywood actress we know as, Marilyn Monroe. You see images of her plastered on everything from pictures to key chains nowadays. Even if you may have come from the millennial or gen x'er generation, we all can relate to one of her most memorable photographs, where she held down her white dress from flying up in the air.
The fluidity of this dress from Mary Ellen's Sewing Room Boutique, put me in the mind of the super flirty dress that Marilyn Monroe wore. Of course it's not an exact replica of the dress, but after talking to one of my blogger friends, she said it was reminiscent of the 50's era, in which Marilyn was most famous. I kept it pretty classic and paired it with this woven white panama hat, that was wrapped with a black ribbon around it, a mixed medal, chandelier style necklace, a pair of basic black sandals and this top handle bag that I'm completely IN LOVE with! This was definitely a rare jewel in the rough! I scored it for about $25 at my new favorite resale shop in Houston, called Twice Lucky Resale.
